Frankfurt will once again be the venue of one of a worldwide series of Arab races: the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Listed Cup (LR). The with 15.000 € remunerated race is one of the most important Arab races this year as a listed race. The race runs over 1600 m and is for three-year-old purebred Arabian horses that have run at least once already.
The fact that the forth of altogether seven stations of this series is in Frankfurt underlines the significance of German Arab racing in Europe.
Sheikh Mansoor has also declared one of his favourites: Salaamah, trained by Champion-Trainer Damien de Watrigant will go to the start. She is a Njewman daughter, bred in Great Britain and has won altogether three of her four races this year with prize money of about 20.000 €. The German elite cannot match that, but Ofira El Samawi from the stable of Regine Weißmeier with one first, one second and one third place, definitely has a chance to add to her list of wins. Serious competition could also come from Poland: Adding won the 1600 m Europejczk race; he should therefore be comfortable with this distance.

What started as “Zayed the First Cup” last year continues this year as “Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup”, which is named after Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is part of the notable Global Arabian Flat Racing Festivals. The purpose of this series is the promotion of the European and worldwide racing scene for Arab purebreds. HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the acting prime minister and minister for presidential affairs in the United Aran Emirates. He is also a successful horseman and chairman of the Emirates Horse Racing Authority (EHRA). The race is also supported by the ADACH the Ministry for Culture and Heritage of Abu Dhabi.
