A young Emirati banker is making headlines as he plans to undertake a charity walkathon for Al Noor Training Centre for children with Special Needs. The mission undertaken by Mr. Nasser Ibrahim this time is one which is tedious, sponsored by RAK Bank, Nasser will be starting his walk on December 15th at 1:00 am from Abu Dhabi Airport and end on December 16th at 4:30 pm at RAK Bank - Emaar Business Park branch, opposite the American University of Dubai (AUD).

 

This is the young banker’s fifth walkathon for charity and Nasser strongly believes that “it is through such initiatives that we can surely create awareness and educate society to closely look at children with special needs and learn to accept them as equals in society, allowing them to also get involved at par in the society’s development and everyday affairs”.

 

This walkathon is an initiative undertaken by this young Emirati who will walk more than 36 hours. He hopes to bring attention about path breaking initiatives and drives which are especially formed for parents with children who deserve an equal involvement into regular society.

 

Al Noor lives up to its name meaning “Light” thus making it a centre where children with special needs are developed with a holistic approach. This walkathon will see close to 150 equally keen walkers and also the children of Al Noor who will join Nasser for the last 1 km, emphasizing the fact of the integration of these children into our society.

 

Ms. Isphana Al-Khatib, Director, Al Noor Training Centre said, “Nasser is setting an extremely good example by taking action to bring focus on social causes that he feels strongly about. He has sustained this action through the years and we hope more people will follow his example and support our cause. Community awareness is crucial to help us successfully integrate our students into the community.

 

The money donated will be presented to the Al Noor Training Centre to help the children.

if you are looking for some football entertainment this weekend then look no further than the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs. The centre is organizing its first CSR Indoor Football Tournament in collaboration with Ahdaaf Sports Club where more than 12 corporate teams will compete against each other on September 9th & 10th at ANISA (Al Noor Indoor Sports Auditorium).

 

ANISA is located behind Mall of the Emirates in Al Barsha Dubai. The teams involved in the competition are from different companies and organizations around the UAE and supporters of the Centre. The confirmed teams include Belhoul lifecare, M5 IT Group, Al-Futtaim (FAMCO), Ahdaaf Sports Club, Gulf Composite Materials, Hashemite Group, Aramex, Al-Rais, KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority), Al-Shahina, Schneider Electric, and Chocodate.

 

To mark this special occasion ANISA have secures the services of a very special guest, none other than the Argentinean football legend and the current Head Coach of Al Wasl Football Club, Diego Armando Maradona, will play a friendly game with the children of Al Noor and officially kick off of the tournament.

 

Al Noor Training Centre is a non-profit organization working under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs and has no regular source of funding; ANISA is one of Al Noor’s fundraising initiatives to cover the operating cost of the Centre by offering ANISA for rent to sports enthusiasts.

 

Whatever your sport- basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, cricket, table, tennis, you cannot beat their facility which is professionally managed by Ahdaaf Sport Club.

Diego Maradona went in for the goal at the first CSR Indoor Football Tournament by Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs on location at their premises in Al Barsha.

The Argentinean football legend - and current Head Coach of Al Wasl Football Club, Diego Armando Maradona made his signature mark on the event as Guest of Honour. He was received with a warm welcome by Al Noor Board Members and the children who presented him with special handcrafted gifts; after which he was taken for a short tour of the Centre, making a quick stop at Al Noor’s Smiles n’ Stuff Shop - the first of its kind in the UAE to sell products hand-made by children with special needs. The highlight of the day was the smiles on the kids’ faces when he played a penalty game with Al Noor students followed by a kick off which officially opened the tournament.

Maradona commented: “Al Noor inspires an altruistic compassion for a community of children with special needs, who have the potential to do more and be more, and that is why I was enthusiastic about visiting the center and meeting everyone there.”

“Football is about teamwork and the drive to triumph. It is about mastering new skills through perseverance and a great attitude. Seeing the determination and happiness of the kids was a deeply touching experience, one that I will always cherish, and one that was made possible through the commendable efforts of the team at Al Noor Training Centre to nurture and develop these children’s skills.”

The event was sponsored by Gulf Agency Company (GAC), Dubal, FAMCO – Al Futtaim Auto Machinery Company, German Business Club, Wild Wadi Waterpark, Sport 360, Al Medmar Magazine, UAE Sports Guide and supported by Jenny Flowers, Al Marai, and Hot Breads. The entire proceeds of the event will benefit the students of Al Noor Training Centre

“One of the objectives of this Football Tournament is to place ANISA on the map as one of Dubai’s indoor sports destinations. ANISA was launched in 2010 to create a sustainable source of funds to address Al Noor’s operational budget deficit by offering ANISA for rent to sports enthusiasts including corporate teams and individuals. This is the first time we are hosting such a tournament which was made possible with the help of our partner Ahdaaf Sports Club and we would like to say a special thank you to Mr. Deigo Maradona for taking the time to visit the Centre and come on board as the Guest of Honour for this tournament. With the success of the tournament, we are excited to add this to our Annual Calendar of Events”, said Anushé Ramzi- Sr. Fundraising Executive of Al Noor Training Centre.

The event was organised as part of Al Noor’s ongoing fundraising initiatives that ran until the 10th September 2011.Tweleve corporate teams from the UAE competed against each other. The participating teams were Belhoul Lifecare, M5 IT Group, FAMCO – Al Futtaim Auto Machinery Company, Ahdaaf Sports Club, Gulf Composite Materials, Hashemite Group, Aramex, Al-Rais, KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority), Al-Shahina, Schneider Electric, and Chocodate.

 

The winner of the tournament was Belhoul Lifecare, the Top Scorer Tariq Aman from Belhoul Lifecare, the Best Player Mohammed Foudeh from Gulf Composite Materials and the Best Goal Keeper Mohammed Salem from Belhoul Lifecare.

“It’s a pleasure for us at Ahdaaf to work and support the Al Noor Training Centre for Special Needs through our vast sports experience in football facilities management. We are also happy to organize the Al Noor’s first CSR Indoor Football Tournament, which should be an exciting tournament and one that encourages the corporate sector to learn more about supporting Al Noor”, said Samer Helou- General Manager of Ahdaaf Sports Club.

Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs held one of the most fun fundraising events of the year, the Al Noor- Samsung Family Fun Fair. The fun-filled community event packed with entertainment for all ages also hosted a Football Tournament that took place at the Al Noor Training Centre over the weekend. 

 

 

The Al Noor-Samsung Fun Fair Football Tournament was organized to provide opportunities to the corporate sector to support the cause of people with Special Needs as part of Al Noor’s ongoing fundraising initiatives.

 

The event consisted of 10 teams with 8 players from many companies in the UAE. This event was professionally managed by Ahdaaf Sports Club. Established in 2008, Ahdaaf’s mission is to provide Dubai with an exceptional sporting experience. They organize corporate events, leagues, tournaments and youth coaching. And the tournament was supported by Duplays, Al Wasl Sports Club and Imaginalab.

 

This tournament also allows the community to experience the Sports Facilities that are available at Al Noor Centre. These facilities can be rented by individuals and corporate organizations to support Al Noor.

 

The event was sponsored by Samsung, DP World and American Dental Clinic.

 

The entire proceeds of the event will benefit the students of Al Noor Training Centre.

 

Isphana Al Khatib, Director of Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs said, “we are happy to count the football community amongst one pool of supporters, and also to have them experience our sports facility which is available for rental“.

 

10 corporate teams from the UAE competed against each other. The participating teams were Emirates NBD, Ahdaaf, Jones Lang Lasale, Dubai Airport “2 teams”, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Samsung, Dubai Fitness Team, Persians and UAE Internal Audit Association.

 

The award ceremony was attended by Mr. Khalid Al Halyan the Chairman of Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs, Mr. Abdul Qader Obaid Ali, Board Member of Al Noor Training Centre, and Mr. Ayman Kotob, Market Intelligence Manager, Corporate Marketing Group, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

 

The winner of the tournament was Ahdaaf Sports Club, while the Persians came in second place and Dubai Airport were in the third place.
