Last night, Grand Millennium Al Wahda concluded its Biggest Shrinker challenge at an awards ceremony in the hotel’s ballroom. Crowned the Biggest Shrinker of them all, Mr. Gregory Brewer, 40 years old, from USA, took home the first prize worth AED 20,000. In second and third place, Mrs. Vera Invanova, 46 years old, from Jordan, and Deniz Jamal, 36 years old, from Iraq, were given prizes worth AED 8,000 and AED 5,000 respectively in recognition of their great achievements.
The evening saw many of the 33 original participants in the challenge join in the celebrations with their families. Over the course of the eight week programme, the 33 shrinkers lost 256 kg altogether, through a combination of exercise, a healthy diet, and a change in lifestyle. The programme, which featured a combination of group classes, individual exercise plans, and motivational speakers from the field of sports, nutrition and health, ensured the results are just the first step on the road to a new healthier way of life.
Michael Sorgenfrey, General Manager of Grand Millennium Al Wahda and a keen sportsman, congratulated the group:

The Biggest Shrinker programme follows a corporate commitment across all Millennium & Copthorne Hotels in the Middle East to introduce a range of meals suitable for diabetics.
